Neeraj Chopra won the men’s javelin throw event at the Doha Diamond League meet with a throw of 88.67m. The Indian athlete achieved the best figure in his very first throw with his second-best coming on the final attempt with 86.52m. Jakub Vadlejch from Czech Republic finished second with 88.63m while Anderson Peters from Granada was third with 85.88m. Chopra, who has a personal best and national record of 89.94m, had finished fourth with 87.43m in 2018 in the only other participation in the Doha Diamond League. He could not take part here last year due to lack of “overall fitness and strength”.
